The candidate list of both the major parties Indian National Congress (INC) and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has been declared for the Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly elections which are scheduled to be held on 28 November 2018. BJP has denied the ticket to 27 sitting MLA's including three ministers whereas Congress has denied the ticket to only four sitting MLA's out of 57. During the 2013 elections BJP got 44.8% votes and won 165 seats whereas congress won 36.38 % votes and had to satisfy with 57 seats the third largest party BSP got 6.29 % votes and 4 seats.

The INC wanted to alliance with BSP but BSP denied the offer. If BSP would have agreed, then it would have become a trouble for the BJP which is ruling the state for the last 15 years. BJP's CM Face is Shivraj Singh Chauhan whereas INC has said that the CM will be decided after the elections which is like an advantage for BJP. However, the the election is most likely between Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamalnath VS CM Shivraj. When it comes to the campaign INC President Rahul Gandhi has already done roadshows and Sabhas in various regions of Madhya Pradesh from Jabalpur to Bhopa and Gwalior.
He has also visited the Datia's Peetambra Peeth and Mahakaleshwar Temple of Ujjain. For your information Cities like Datia and Ujjain with Temples have a large influence in the elections on over more than a hundred seats. BJP is also set the campaign and is telling people about what the government had done in these 15 years. However the major issue for both the parties is the rebels.
CM shivraj's brother in law has joined INC whereas an argument has already occurred between Digvijay singh and Scindia over the tickets division. The only major advantage that the INC has is the Anti-incumbency against the BJP makes it look like a both parties have a 50-50 chance of winning .
However, the ABP news Opinion poll says that Congress may form Govt in the state. Anyway, it would be very interesting to see who's formula is going to work and who is going to win the state.
